Genetically Modified Foods

Genetically Modified (GM) or Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) are the terms that describe the manipulation of our food to better pad the pockets of corporate giants like Monsanto.

We don't know the long term effects of using Genetically Modified Foods. They are inserting bacteria, viruses, animal and even human DNA into plants creating new life forms without any regard to the consequences. The effect of establishing GM crops is irreversible. We have no idea what repercussions using these genetically altered organisms will have on our biology, our environment, our future. The company that brought us GM foods is the same company that brought us Agent Orange, DDT, PCBs and Aspartame. A great record, huh? You ain't seen nothing yet. We need more voices, especially here in the US on the Anti-GMO campaign. There may be more people than realized in the US not buying GMO but we need to let the manufacturers know! A quick email or letter letting a company know that you don't buy their products because they use GMO ingredients is a useful way to use your voice!

Here are a few quick ways you can make your voice heard;

• Sign a petition sent to Kraft asking them to stop using GMO ingredients. I added in the personal message box that I do not buy Kraft products and will not until they offer NON-GMO products.
